Tai Hing Hong was established in 1967 by Mr. Ho Shui and Mr. Fan Fuk Hoi. Wing Chong Hong run by Mr. Ho Shui was mainly for the business in land supply of petroleum products. Because of the expansion in sea supply business by Peninsula Petroleum Co. Ltd., Wing Chong Hong obtained the distributorship of petroleum products in sea supply. Mr. Ho Shui did not know much about the sea operation and related business, he invited Mr. Fan Fuk Hoi to join him for such business. They established Tai Hing Hong to provide the sea supply of gas oil and engine oil and the operation was managed by Mr. Fan Fuk Hoi. The company business has a stable development since then. In 1969 Mr. Ho Shui could not continue to run the business because of heart attack disease, he transferred all his shares in Tai Hing Hong to Mr. Fan Fuk Hoi. Mr. Ho Shui died shortly after that, Mr. Fan Fuk Hoi continued to use the name Tai Hing Hong for the company in memory of his good friend.

The oil business in Tai Hing Hong has developed satisfactorily, Tai Hing Hong has gained support from Hong Kong Caltex Co. Ltd. and Hong Kong Shell Co. Ltd. respectively and then become their oil distributor. Mr. Fan Fuk Hoi has formally retired in 1994 and handed over the business to his second generation successor on 1st April 1994. The second generation successor expected to diversify the business development, some customers also expected Tai Hing Hong to supply some related products other than petroleum products at the same time. Incidentally, Tai Hong Hong got the chance to know the paint products from Yung Chi Paint & Varnish MFG. Co. Ltd. and discovered that the excellent quality of the products could meet the customer requirements. Because of its development potential in Hong Kong market, the promotion of Rainbow Paints has thus started. Since 1996, Tai Hing Hong has been the Sole Agent of Yung Chi Paint & Varnish MFG. Co. Ltd. in Hong Kong and Macau.

Because of the rapid expansion in oil and paint businesses, the company has undergone the re-organization in 1999, Tai Hing Hong Oil Co. Ltd. was established to run the oil supply business in the same year while Tai Hing Hong will continue to focus on paint business.
